Machine-Washable Superfine Wool Socks

Fine wool usually means hand wash and lay flat. Ours go in the machine on cold and the dryer on low.

Superfine Wool you can actually machine wash

Most fine wool socks come with a care label that reads like a warning: hand wash, lay flat, never tumble dry. So the nicest socks in the drawer end up being the ones you avoid wearing. We designed After House Socks as machine-washable Superfine Wool socks from the start. Machine wash cold with like colors, tumble dry low, and wear them again tonight.

How to wash Superfine Wool socks

Use cold water, wash with like colors and dry on low heat. Skip hot water and high heat, as you would with any wool. Under normal machine washing and low-heat drying, the waffle knit keeps its shape and its softness.

Wool also needs washing less often than cotton. Superfine Wool resists odor naturally and moves moisture away from the skin, so a pair can be worn several evenings in a row and still feel fresh.

What you get

100% Superfine Wool in an ultra-thick waffle knit, about three times the cushion of a normal sock through the sole. A seamless toe. Silicone grip dots for wood, tile and stairs. Six colors, Linen, French Navy, Black, Dusk, Camel and Ash, each in small, medium and large. They are made for home and cold floors, not for wearing inside shoes.

Why Superfine Wool is worth washing well

Ordinary wool itches because its fibers are coarse. Superfine Wool fibers are much finer, so they bend against the skin and feel soft from the first wear. Because the whole sock is Superfine Wool, not a blend wrapped around a synthetic core, every wash keeps that same softness against your feet.
